Twenty fifth edition of Silver Chrysanthemum festival and contest to be held in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - More singers and composers will participate in the 25th edition of the international festival and contest of singing and composing sentimental songs, Silver Chrysanthemum. The event will be held at the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre on 3-5 December, under the aegis of the Chisinau Municipal Council’s Culture Department.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the aforementioned department, the festival’s head Valentina Volontir said that the festival’s goal was to turn to good account and revive the sentimental song as music genre, to back singers and composers of these songs, popularize the genre works signed by contemporary authors.

According to Volontir, the festival and contest will be carried out in two stages, comprising two sections: Singing and Composing.

The first issue of the international festival and contest of singing and composing sentimental songs, Silver Chrysanthemum, was held in 1992.
