Over 27 per cent of Moldova's residents immunized with full scheme against COVID-19

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - Over 27 per cent of Moldova’s residents have been immunized with the full scheme against COVID-19. The Health Ministry’s leadership made public data to this effect today.
State Secretary Svetlana Nicolaescu said that the highest immunization rate was in the Moldovan capital, about 40 per cent. As many as 23,000 vaccine doses were administered in the last week. She noted that the authorities were concerned about the slow pace of immunization.
Nicolaescu also said that, in the last week, the number of cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus had decreased, with 4,238 cases registered. Most of them were from the left bank of Dniester and in the capital.
The ministry’s data shows that 2,224 beds for patients with COVID-19 are activated in hospitals from Moldova.
So far, 1,619,124 vaccine doses have been administered in Moldova. The health sector authorities inform that, to achieve the needed immunity, over 70 per cent of the country’s population must be immunized.
