Chisinau, 1 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Republic of Moldova, with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) launched today a project Strengthening cooperation of partners in dual technical vocational education to manage the consequences of the COVID pandemic.
The project provides for the promotion of promotion grants for approximately 20 consortia / partnerships between economic agents and educational institutions in the Republic of Moldova, which implement dual technical vocational education, selected on a competitive basis. "The total value of the grant scheme is 500 thousand euros. Also, in addition, IT equipment worth two hundred thousand euros will be purchased, which will be distributed directly to the beneficiaries by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry ",CCI said.
According to CCI head Sergiu Harea, the institution implements activities aimed at promoting partnerships between economic operators and vocational education institutions for the development of sustainable dual IPT in the Republic of Moldova. "CCI ensures favorable conditions for advancing all business sectors in the country, emphasizes the needs of its members, contributes to developing the competitiveness of Moldovan companies, modernizing and developing society, promoting IPT, by providing specialized support in a professional and efficient manner", Harea said.
At the same time, he noted that since 2020, due to the pandemic, a decreasing number of student-apprentices have enrolled in dual vocational technical education institutions, and others have stopped working in companies, due to the fact that they could not continue the economic activity as a result of the pandemic (HORECA, tourism, etc.), and the dual programs were dramatically affected. "An effective solution for managing the consequences of the pandemic, for partners in dual technical vocational education, is to strengthen cooperation and expand the offer of vocational training," he said.
Oana Vodița, Project Manager of Promoting Technical Vocational Education for a Green Economy (GIZ Moldova) encouraged dual partners to present initiatives in this project "not only focused on overcoming the current situation, but also to be future-oriented , including visionary, innovative activities that would allow the development of dual education ”.
The project Promoting Technical Vocational Education for a Green Economy is implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation with the financial support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
