Agroindustrial College from Rascani to be renovated with EU help

Chisinau, 1 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- About 350 thousand euros will be invested in the rehabilitation of the Agro-Industrial College from Râșcani. The works started today with the planting of two hectares of lavender and two hectares of sage. At the same time, the institution's laboratory is to be equipped with furniture, modern equipment, IT equipment and an essential oil extraction installation.

The investment is made within the project Livada Moldovei, implemented by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with the support of the European Union, through the European Investment Bank. In the first phase of the project, the agricultural equipment necessary for the planting, harvesting and maintenance of lavender and sage plantations was delivered. "Using these machines, the students of the college, guided by the teachers, managed to successfully plant the lavender and sage field. The harvest is to be processed, using the capacities of the didactic laboratory that will be built and equipped with the necessary ones ”, a communiqué of the project reads.

The direct beneficiaries of the investments will be over three hundred students of the Agroindustrial College from Râșcani, specialists in the sector, as well as farmers who specialize in the cultivation of hetero-oil plants. Following the implementation of the investment project, the College from Râșcani will become a training center for qualified specialists in this field.

Within the Livada Moldovei project, the Government is investing 12 million euros in the rehabilitation and endowment of ten educational and research institutions in the country. The money is made available by the European Union through the European Investment Bank. Previously, through the same project, important investments were made at the Technical University of Moldova, the State Agrarian University of Moldova and the Center of Excellence in Viticulture and Vinification in Chisinau.
