Embassy of Latvia in Chisinau makes book donation to National Library

Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Embassy of Latvia in Chisinau today made a donation of books to the National Library of Moldova (BNRM). The action was carried out with the support of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova Uldis Mikuts.
At the event, Ambassador Uldis Mikuts said the donation was made up of 11 book titles on the history, culture and civilization of Latvia. ‘’You will find here also information about our country in the Middle Ages, as well as about the course of development of Latvia following the declaration of the Independence in 1918. At the same time, there are works which present information on tourism, including about the nicest 100 places from Latvia,’’ the diplomat noted.
For her part, BNRM director Elena Pintilei thanked the Latvian Embassy for this book donation, which also comes on behalf of the National Library from Riga. ’’We have signed a partnership agreement and permanently maintain cooperation relations with the National Library from Latvia. These documents will be meant both for the wide public and the researchers and the people interested and will contribute to a fruitful cooperation between our nations,’’ Elena Pintilei added.
The diplomatic relations between Moldova and Latvia were established on 1 September 1992.
