Another attempt to elect leadership of People's Assembly failed in Comrat

Chisinau, 3 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- Newly elected members of Gagauzia People's Assembly (APG) failed to elect speaker and governing bodies of the autonomous legislature today and decided to return to the subject early next week.
This is the sixth attempt to elect the failed APG head. At today's meeting, two candidacies were submitted - Dmitri Constantinov and Demian Caraseni, who have got 15 and 9 votes, respectively. The Socialists did not take part in the voting procedure.
Comrat MPs decided to continue the meeting on 7 December, according to gagauzinfo.md.
The People's Assembly of Gagauzia (Gagauziyanin Halk Toplușu) is the representative and legislative authority of the Autonomous Territorial Unit with special status Gagauz-Yeri, part of the Republic of Moldova. APG is composed of 35 deputies, elected for a four-year term, in uninominal territorial constituencies, by universal, equal, direct, secret and free vote.
The last elections in the APG took place on 19 September.
