Deadline for payment of wealth tax for 2021 is 27 December in Moldova

Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - The State Fiscal Service (SFS) has finished the process of handing the notifications of payment to the tax payers who are obliged to pay the wealth tax. Thus, the tax payers who on 1 November 2021 were identified as subjects of taxation with the wealth tax were informed about the sum of the tax due to be paid, through the notifications of payment, till 27 December.   

„Under the Fiscal Code, the term for payment of the wealth tax is till 25 December of the management year. Yet, proceeding from the fact that, this year, the day of 25 December is a day off, the deadline for the payment of the concerned tax is regarded 27 December 2021,’’ the Fiscal Service said.  

At the same time, if the tax payer did not receive the notification of payment for the wealth tax, he/she is to appeal to the SFS subdivision in the area where he/she is served. The payment of the tax can be made online, trough the MPay governmental service of electronic payments.    

„If the wealth tax is not paid till 27 December 2021, a delay increase (penalty) worth 0.0219 per cent per day is applied for each day of delay,’’ the State Fiscal Service said.  

The wealth tax is imposed on real estate with dwelling purpose and vacation houses (except for grounds), the totality of which cumulatively meet the following conditions: the overall estimated value is of 1.5 million lei and more; the total area is 120 square metres and more.
