Chisinau, 5 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- The Supreme Court of Justice upheld the ruling of the Balti Court of Appeal, which agreed with the decision of the Balti District Court to annul the registration of Marina Tauber as an electoral contestant.
The decision of the Supreme Court of Justice was pronounced after the Bălți Court of Appeal, after a hearing that lasted several hours, announced on Sunday, December 5, early in the morning, that it had left the decision of the first instance in force.
The first instance, Bălți District Court began examining the notification of the central electoral authority on Friday, December 3. After a marathon meeting, which lasted about 25 hours with breaks, the Balti Court granted the request of the CEC and annulled the quality of electoral contestant of the representative of the Shor Party Marina Tauber.
Also on Sunday morning, shortly before the start of the elections in Balti, the CEC found it impossible to hold the second round of local elections, suspending it.
The Central Electoral Authority has asked the court to annul Marina Tauber's status as an electoral contestant because it has admitted undeclared funding in its election campaign, exceeding the campaign spending cap.
