Tendency of decrease in number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - Chisinau remains in alert of public health, orange code, even if a decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases is recorded.
The Chisinau city hall informed that the municipality remained in enhanced epidemiological alert as to the COVID-19 infection, although a tendency of diminution of the number of cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus is registered among the residents.
Based on the indexes unveiled by the Chisinau Public Health Centre, emergency state in the public health sector is maintained in the Moldovan capital, for which the orange code of alert is established.
Thus, presently, 430 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in municipal hospitals, of whom 38 are in a quite serious condition, 184 are in serious condition, 194 - in medium seriousness conditions and 14 patients are in light condition.
In the context of the decrease in the number of infections with coronavirus, the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, informed that, starting from 23 November, the hospitalization of patients had been ceased at the following institutions: Moldexpo international exhibition centre (ensures the sorting, 100 beds); the Municipal Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases for Children (the number of COVID-19 beds was decreased by 25); Valentin Ignatenco Municipal Clinical Hospital for Children.
Also, as of 30 November, the hospitalization capacity was reduced by 110 beds at the Gheorghe Paladi Municipal Clinical Hospital, with keeping nine beds at the Intensive Therapy section and the hospitalization of COVID-19 patients was ceased at the Municipal Clinical Hospital of Phthisiopneomology.
Presently, the overall capacity of hospitalization for COVID-19 patients in the municipal hospitals is of 960 beds (of which 100 beds of sorting at Moldexpo), 71 beds are in the intensive therapy sections (of which 4 for children).
