Balti residents to elect mayor on 19 December

Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - The runoff election for the office of mayor of the Balti municipality will take place on 19 December,

At a today’s meeting, the central electoral authorities decided the way the runoff election will be held in Balti. ‘’The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) decides: the runoff of the new local polls for the office of mayor of the Balti city is established for 19 December 2021. The electoral council of the Balti municipal constituency No 2 will approve, under the decision, the term of the new local elections of the Balti city’s mayor,’’ CEC head Angelica Caraman said.

The runoff election for the position of Balti mayor was to take place on 5 December; yet, it was suspended following a decision by the central electoral authority.
