Small agricultural producers to receive subsidies on behalf of state in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 December /MOLDPRES/ - More micro- and small agricultural producers from Moldova will be able to benefit from subsidies. The MPs adopted a draft law to this effect in the first reading today.
The amendments made to the legislation refer to the inclusion of a category of beneficiaries of subsidies – micro agricultural producer, who owns up to 2 hectares of farmland.
Thus, the micro agricultural producers, who own up to 2 hectares of farmland, and the small agricultural producers, who own from 2 to 10 hectares of farmland, will be able to benefit from subsidies. The medium-sized agricultural producer, who owns from 10 to 75 hectares of farmland and the big agricultural producer, who owns more than 75 hectares of farmland, will be able to benefit from subsidies as well.
Statistics shows that 3,143 applications on providing of post-investment subsidies worth 544.4 million lei were received till 1 October 2021.
