Moldovan deputy premier meets Croatian ambassador

Chisinau, Dec. 7 / MOLDPRES /- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration met today at the Foreign Ministry with Marija Kapitanović, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Republic of Moldova residing in Bucharest, the MAEIE press service has reported.
The officials approached the good relations between the countries and discussed the priority areas of cooperation between Moldova and Croatia. An important issue was the ways to boost trade and economic relations.
"We expressed our appreciation for Croatia's continued support for our country's European agenda and for the special attention paid to strengthening the dialogue between the EU and the Eastern Partnership states during the rotating presidency of the EU Council," Popescu said.
Popescu also noted that turning to good account the platform of the Moldovan-Croatian Intergovernmental Commission for European Integration and continuing political consultations on the European integration dimension is an opportunity that can lead to good results for us to adopt good practices in key areas of cooperation: harmonization institutional capacities as well as communication with the general public on issues related to European integration.
They appreciated the interaction within regional organizations and initiatives - the South East European Cooperation Process, the Central European Initiative and the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization, of which Croatia is an observer member.
"A special topic was the forthcoming visit to Chisinau by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Gordan Grlić Radman, which will give an additional impetus to our political and diplomatic cooperation," he said.
