Comrat deputies again failed to elect leadership of People's Assembly

Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/- Newly elected members of the People's Assembly of Gagauziai (APG) failed in yesterday's meeting to elect speaker and governing bodies of the autonomous legislature and decided to return to the issue in a week.
This was the seventh attempt to elect the failed APG head. Two candidates, Dmitry Constantinov and Victor Petrov were nominated at yesterday's meeting, but the voting procedure could not be carried out because the deputies could not agree on the location of the polling booth.
Comrat deputies decided to continue the meeting on Tuesday, December 14, according to gagauzinfo.md.
The People's Assembly of Gagauzia (Gagauziyanin Halk Toplușu) is the representative and legislative authority of the Autonomous Territorial Unit with special status Gagauz-Yeri, part of the Republic of Moldova. APG consists of 35 deputies, elected for a four-year term, in uninominal territorial constituencies.
The last elections in the APG took place on September 19.
