About 4,000 cases of COVID-19 reported last week

Chisinau, Dec. 8 / MOLDPRES /- On 29 November -5 December, 3,824 cases of COVID-19 were registered, of which 1,830 cases in the Transnistrian region. The figures were released today by the Ministry of Health.

Lately the number of cases of infection among children has decreased by almost 3%, from 511 children to 496. There has also been a reduction of almost 33% of cases registered in pregnant women.

The leadership of the Ministry of Health announces that in 25 medical institutions in the country are organized sections with beds for COVID-19 patients. And the average number of hospitalized patients was 1,265 people, 18.1% less than the previous week. Similarly, the average number of hospitalized patients with severe forms in ATI was 147, a decrease of over 14%.

Also in the last week, 30,959 people were immunized in vaccination centers in the country, about 32% more than last week. Also, 8,571 people received their booster dose. Thus, the national coverage with a dose of serum against COVID-19 is almost 29%.
