Term of change of old-type identity cards for war veterans to be extended in Moldova

Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/ - The government today extended the term of change of the told-type identity cards of war veterans by the new ones till 31 December 2022. At the same time, the old-type identity cards will remain valid till 1 January 2023, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The extension of the terms is caused by the fact that, so far, about 65 per cent of the identity cards of the people recorded as war veterans have been changed.   

„This amendment will allow considering the applicants’ files in continuation. Thus, the people who have not changed their identify cards as yet will further benefit from the social rights and guarantees provided for in the normative framework, based on the old-type document, which they own,’’ Defence Minister Anatol Nosatii said.  

The present decision enters into force on the date of its publication in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) of Moldova.

According to data presented by the inter-departmental commission for ensuring the change and issuance of war veterans’ identity cards, the status of war veterans, with the release of new-type identify cards, has been reconfirmed for 22,606 people.
