Chisinau, 9 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- A new joint meeting of governments of Chisinau and Bucharest will take place in early 2022. The statement was made today by Prime Minister of Romania Nicolae Ciuca during a joint conference with Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliţa.
Gavrilita said that the new meeting will be an impetus for a more intense cooperation in all sectors. "We have a historic chance to turn the language community into a community of great projects, for the benefit of the people on both banks of the Prut, by building new bridges literally and figuratively, whether we are talking about interconnection in the energy sphere or discussing about the connection of the transport infrastructure in the Republic of Moldova to the European networks, whether we lay the foundations for facilitating telecommunications between the two banks. The Republic of Moldova counts on Romania's help to fulfill the Government's agenda to transform Moldova into a modern European state, in which the law and the rule of law should be at the forefront, and the institutions should have the full capacity to work in the interests of citizens and not the service of particular and obscure interests ", Gavrilița said.
The Prime Minister of Bucharest said that the bilateral agenda for the next period provides clear and impactful projects for the citizens on both banks of the Prut. "We have agreed to accelerate the advancement of bilateral projects in key areas. There is an openness and a climate of trust unprecedented in terms of bilateral relations and we want to conclude a non-reimbursable assistance agreement with Chisinau as soon as possible ", said Ciucă.
Today, Gavrilița is on an official visit to Bucharest, to meet Romanian Head of State Klaus Werner Iohannis, Senate President Florin Cîțu and President of the Chamber of Deputies Marcel Ciolacu.
