National Food Safety Agency detects infringements at animal shelter from Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) has detected a string of infringements following a control carried out at the animal shelter from the Moldovan capital, subordinated to the municipal enterprise, Autosalubritate (Self-sanitation) Administration.
After the control, inspectors of the ANSA territorial department from the Chisinau municipality found out a string of infringements, such as: work without sanitary and veterinary authorizations; maintenance of animals without the necessary supervision; lack of the needed veterinary care for the sick animals; food of unknown origin; lack of record of the treatment with medicines; lack of the record of the utilities necessary for the observance of the biosecurity requirements; lack of the needed disinfectants, etc.
Based on these findings, ANSA prepares a document in line with the law on official controls for verifying the compliance with the legislation concerning the food for animals and with the norms of health and well-being of animals. Or, the people found guilty of these infringements will be called to account, according to the Contravention Law.
“After finishing the procedures related to the control carried out at the shelter for companion animals from the Chisinau municipality of the Autosalubritate Administration municipal enterprise, we will ask the city’s administration to establish a joint meeting, in order to unveil the things found out and demand the explanations necessary on the concerned subject,’’ ANSA said.
Also, the National Food Safety Agency sent an invitation to the public associations in charge to a table of discussions, due on 14 December, to tackle the issue of ensuring and observance by the society and the competent institutions of the requirements of protection and well-being of the animals.
