Moldovan-Belgian bilateral relations to be strengthened

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met Bucharest-based Ambassador of Belgium to Moldova Philippe Benoit. The officials discussed the consolidation of the Moldovan-Belgian relations, the need to boost the bilateral cooperation and the business opportunities in diverse sectors, the presidential press service has reported.

President Maia Sandu said that Moldova wanted to extend the economic cooperation, with emphasis on the attraction of Belgian investments, including in the sector of alternative energy, as well as on increasing Moldovan exports to Belgium. The sides discussed also the need to speed up the two bilateral agreements under negotiation: the agreement on the conversion of driver’s licences and the convention on cooperation in the police sector.
