Lithuania to back Moldovan authorities in proces of country's reformation, modernization

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today met Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
Attending the meeting were the head of the parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration, Doina Gherman, and the head of the Moldova-Lithuania parliamentary friendship group, Ion Babici. Attending the discussions were also Ambassador of Lithuania to Moldova Kęstutis Kudzmanas, as well as officials of the Lithuanian government.
In the beginning, Igor Grosu referred to the priorities of the parliamentary majority and stressed the determination to advance in the process of implementation of the strategic reforms in Moldova.
”Moldova’s citizens gave a strong confident pro-European vote and we must firmly meet the expectations. Therefore, the zero priority is the justice reform or this is the way to the fight with corruption and edification of strong state institutions,’’ the parliament speaker said.
Igor Grosu also touched upon the importance to ensure the energy security, following the latest developments in this sector. He noted that Moldova counted on the support of Lithuania, both on the parliamentary dimension in the context of the Eastern Partnership.
The PM of Lithuania highlighted the good cooperation between the two countries and expressed openness to support the Moldovan authorities in the process of the country’s reformation and modernization.
The officials opted for boosting the relations at the parliamentary level and through carrying out joint projects for the benefit of all citizens.
