Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA) has come up with specifications on the today’s raids of anticorruption prosecutors at the headquarters of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG). The raids took place in two job offices used by a prosecutor.
According to PA, the searches were carried out within a criminal file managed by prosecutors of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office. The file was opened based on a complaint by a person, who said that the prosecutor, hearing him as witness, forced him to make false statements.
“The prosecutor of the Prosecutor General’s Office was recognized as suspect of committing the offence back on 3 December 2012 and at a request by anticorruption prosecutors to voluntarily deliver the relevant acts for investigating the case, he refused this. In these conditions, to ensure the full investigation of the circumstances set forth in the victim’s complaint, to identify, raise and consider the relevant acts and objects, it was necessary to make searches,’’ the note issued by PA reads.
