Moldovan fine artist launches book

Chisinau, 10 December /MOLDPRES/ - A book titled, Self-Portrait – Journal, signed by fine artist Mihai Tarus, was launched at the National Art Museum today.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, Mihai Tarus said that the volume had 192 pages and comprised texts and pictures of her works.
An exhibition of portraits and self-portraits of the author was presented at the event.
Mihai Tarus was born on 10 December 1948, in Sinesti village, Ungheni district. He finished school of Fine Arts "A. Plamadeala" in Chisinau and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sankt – Petersburg. The first personal exhibition he opened at the House of Scholars in the city upon the Neva river. He exhibited with distinguished Russian painters at Gallery "Tretiakov" and presented his works – at the Sterligov Artists Group in Russia – in New York. The galleries from Finland, Belgium, Italy and France also hosted his works. For originality in creation, Mihai Tarus won the Gold Medal at the Cannes Art Salon, France in 2009 and Silver Medal of the Academy of Painting of the Russian Federation in 2007.
