Holiday lights turned on at Moldovan parliament's square

Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s parliament gave start to the season of the winter holidays through a string of activities, including in online format.
Hundreds of lights were turned on on the Christmas trees from the institution’s hall and on the parliament’s square on 10 December evening. Due to the festive multi-colour illumination, the parliament building becomes more elegant in the evening.
Also on 10 December, the stage of registration of the second edition of the online contest of carols and good wishes ended, for which over 150 amateur singers of Moldova and from abroad sent video messages. All carols and good wishes will be placed on the parliament’s Facebook page on 15 December and the results of the contest will be announced on 21 December. The first three videos, children’s category, and the first three videos, adults’ category, with the largest number of visualizations, will be declared as winners.
Traditionally, on the Christmas Eve, the parliament carries out charity actions. A Christmas fair and more actions of backing families will be organized this year as well, in limited format.
The COVID-19 pandemic imposed a new way of organizing public events. Thus, the schedule of the winter holidays will be held in line with the provisions of the Decision of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission and of the plan on the protection and prevention of the legislative institution’s infection with the new-type coronavirus.
