Chisinau, Dec. 13 / MOLDPRES /- Eleven educational institutions in the Republic of Moldova received practical guides for improving the school environment and a kit with specialized tools for assessing the indoor microclimate. The teaching products, made with the financial support of the German Government, are intended for the Green Teams of each institution, consisting of teachers, students and parents, who are involved in monitoring, planning and implementing the ecological activities of their school.
Practical guide Towards a green, sustainable and efficient school! was designed as a teaching aid for extracurricular and extracurricular activities for 7th - 12th grade students, being written in a simple and accessible language. Based on this, using specific tools, it will be possible to assess the situation in each school, plan and carry out actions for the sustainable development of the institution and monitor changes.
"Based on the advice in the guide and using the tools provided, students will measure the air temperature, the humidity in a room, the speed of the wind or air masses inside the building, the level of lighting, the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2), the amount of energy that is consumed by an electrical appliance, the content of heavy metals and organic materials in the water, the salinity and purity of the water. And once they know the situation in their school, they will be able to develop an action plan to solve the identified problems ", Irina Plis, president of the Alliance for Energy Efficiency and Renewables said.
The editing of the guide was co-financed from the sources of the Agency for Energy Efficiency, so that the circulation has been doubled and the work will reach all school libraries in the republic.
