One-off allowance worth 16,000 lei to be provided to another 5,563 employees infected with COVID-19 at work in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Finance Ministry will allocate 89 million lei from the government’s intervention fund for providing one-off allowances worth 16,000 lei to the medical staff, as well as other employees who were infected with COVID-19 while fulfilling their job duties. A draft to this effect got positive notification at a cabinet meeting today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.    

As many as 5,563 people will benefit from the one-off allowance, of whom 4,882 are medical employees of medical institutions of the Interior Ministry, Defence Ministry, National Administration of Penitentiaries, medical and sanitary institutions subordinated to the Health Ministry and local public authorities and 681 are employees of public sector institutions.    

The public authorities, in their capacity of beneficiaries of the financial means earmarked, bear responsibility for the data presented and will compile, in the way established, the documents needed for financing the concerned expenses through the institutions where the people work.
