Ten thousand laptops from Ministry of Education transferred to district councils

Chisinau, 15 Dec. / MOLDPRES /-About ten thousand laptops purchased this spring by the Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) to ensure students' access to distance learning will be redistributed to general education institutions for use in education. The government handed over state-owned laptops to administrative-territorial units yesterday.

According to MEC, the laptops were previously distributed to district / municipal councils with the right to use, being used exclusively for students who needed a device to connect to online classes. "Then this batch of equipment fully covered the needs of students in middle school and high school," says the ministry.

Following the approval of the decision on the transfer of these goods, the destination of laptops may be changed in accordance with the new educational needs in educational institutions.

The purchase of the ten thousand laptops was made by MEC in response to the pandemic created by the COVID-19 virus and was financed by the World Bank.
