Chisinau, 15 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- Slobozia village, Ştefan Vodă district will have a coat of arms and a flag. The decree on the registration of village symbols, signed by the country's president, was published in the Official Journal today.
The coat of arms of Slobozia village is a silver field with a rotating peacock of azure. The head of the shield is red, loaded with one hand sticking out of the lower edge of the head and clutching in its fist a roll of paper, all gold. The shield is stamped with a village gold crown.
The flag is a white square cloth with a red border, with a rotating blue peacock in the middle.
The locality Slobozia or popularly called Slobozia Hanesei is located in the southeast of the Republic of Moldova, 2 km from the route Tighina - Odessa. The name Slobozia means "people settled on free land", as a testimony that the localities of Bugeac began to grow, especially at the expense of those who came to capitalize on the rich lands here after the end of the Russo-Turkish war of 1768-1774. The village is first mentioned on a Russian map from 1738, which is kept in the Central State Historical-Military Archive in Moscow. The town is mentioned in documents from the Russian-Turkish wars (1762, 1770, 1813).
