Man detained by CNA after extorting 50 thousand euros

Chisinau, 15 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- A man was detained today by the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office and CNA in a criminal case of influence peddling. He is suspected that together with other accomplices, he allegedly extorted 50 thousand euros from a resident of Nisporeni district in order to solve a criminal case, started on human trafficking.
According to CNA data, the extorted money was to reach public figures in the Prosecutor's Office and the Police.
Today, law enforcement officers descended on the homes of several people and detained the intermediary. If found guilty, he faces up to 15 years in prison.
