Due to this project, a national programme on energy rehabilitation of buildings from all over Moldova, with emphasis on those with social purpose, will be launched in Moldova. Beneficiaries are the public institutions of national importance, such as the republican hospitals, as well as the ones of local and municipal importance: municipal and district kindergartens, schools, hospitals. Thus, more than 250,000 patients will annually enjoy better services through the rehabilitation of the hospital institutions alone and the state will save at least 5.2 million euros.
The project envisages the providing of two loans worth 30 million euros each on behalf of EIB and EBRD and of a grant of 2.8 million euros on behalf of the European Commission’s Neighbourhood Investment Platform and on behalf of the Eastern Partnership Technical Assistance Trust Fund.
Also today, the sides signed a letter of intent on EIB’s availability to provide a loan amounting to 150 million euros for the Moldova Roads IV Project. Over 150 km of priority roads for the country will be rehabilitated with this money and a modern road infrastructure means extra benefits for the people and the economy.
