Moldovan president meets European Council president in Brussels

Chisinau, 15 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu, during her visit to Brussels, today had a meeting with European Council President Charles Michel. The head of state thanked the EU official for the support Moldova had benefited from on behalf of the European institutions and the European Union member states.

According to the presidential press service, during the discussions, President Maia Sandu appreciated the personal involvement of Charles Michel in the promotion of the cooperation between EU and the Eastern Partnership countries, as well as the constant support he is providing to the Moldova’s authorities in the carrying out of the country’s reforms agenda.

„President Michel assured me of his full support for our agenda of domestic transformation, for us to be able to consolidate the capacities and to thus help Moldova on these days full of challenges,’’ Maia Sandu stressed.

The interlocutors also discussed Moldova’s plans and priorities for 2022, ways to turn to account as efficiently as possible the assistance provided by EU and the new opportunities of financing provided to the Eastern Partnership countries.
