Moldovan publicist edits book of aphorisms, thoughts

Chisinau, 21 December /MOLDPRES/ - A book of aphorisms, thoughts and reflections titled, Bulgări (Clods), signed by editor, publicist, poet, sociologist, bibliographer, Merited Man Nicolae Schitco, has appeared at a publishing house from Chisinau.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, Nicolae Schitco said the volume had 136 pages; it appeared in a number of 500 copies and comprises thoughts, aphorisms and reflections.
Nicolae Schitco was born in the Sofia village, northern Drochia district, on 27 April 1955. He graduated from the Librarianship and Bibliography Faculty of the Moldovan State University (USM) in 1972. As of 1976, he worked as methodologist at the Ion Creanga National Library for Children. In 1990-97, Schitco held more positions at the Presidency of Moldova. On the period 1997-2002, he was coordinator of edition at the State Department for information supply Moldpres and starting from 2002 till 2016 – executive director of the Draghistea Foundation. Under presidential degree, in August 2016, he was appointed to the office of secretary heraldist at Moldova’s Presidency.
Nicolae Schitco was at the foundation of the creation of the system of Moldova’s state distinctions. He is the author of the draft law of Moldova On the state distinctions. He is promoter of the creation of the national heraldic system, of the National Heraldry Commission under the President of Moldova, by working out organizational documents, including normative acts in the field. On the period 2002-2016, the Draghistea Cultural and Editorial Foundation, led by him, elaborated and edited over 100 book titles: belles lettres, textbooks, encyclopedias. In December 2016, Nicolae Schitco was awarded the honorific title of Merited Man, for merits in the promotion of the national cultural values, contribution to the turning to good account of the historical heritage of the settlements and prodigious organizational work.
