Moldovan foreign minister meets ambassador of Egypt

Chisinau, Dec. 23 / MOLDPRES /- Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, spoke at the Foreign Ministry with Moyayad Fathallah Mohamed Eldalie, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Moldova based in Bucharest, the MAEIE press service has reported.
Diplomats noted the good relations between the two states and the priority areas of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Arab Republic of Egypt. An important topic was the expression of interest in developing Moldovan-Egyptian cooperation on trade and investment, initiating negotiations for the signing of a bilateral Free Trade Agreement and supporting the organization of exchanges of economic missions that would allow deeper mutual knowledge and business people relations (B2B).
The officials also referred to the intention of both sides to boost the high-level political dialogue, next year, the visit of the head of diplomacy of the Republic of Moldova to Cairo being planned.
"During the bilateral talks, we reaffirmed our country's interest in advancing bilateral draft agreements: avoiding double taxation, promoting and protecting each other's investments, intensifying tourism from Egypt to the Republic of Moldova and facilitating reciprocal travel," Nicu Popescu said.
It was also agreed to initiate cooperation between the Diplomatic Institute and the Diplomatic Academy in Cairo in order to organize exchange programs for diplomats and transfer of good practices.
