Border Police sets up intensive state border control regime

Chisinau, Dec. 23 / MOLDPRES /- From today until January 16, 2022, the Border Police will establish an intensive state border control regime.
The intensive regime involves the implementation of measures to streamline cross-border traffic, maintaining order and peace in the border area, but also the permanent monitoring of the operational situation.
Thus, in the state border crossing points, working meetings will be held with the employees of the Customs Service, in order to establish an efficient working mechanism by synchronizing the number of jobs and employees in PTF, the processing times and the exchange of data on the flow into the PTF, common actions in the event of specific and crisis situations; border meetings with the authorities of neighboring states; make the most of the PTF infrastructure; providing special stationary and mobile control technology; the application of special means and service dogs in order to combat illegal migration and other crimes at the border; cooperation with the territorial subdivisions in order to ensure the observance of the rule of law near the PTFs and the access roads to the PTF in order not to allow traffic jams; use of all tools to inform travelers about the situation in PTFs.
In the border area, the security of the border subdivisions will be increased and their guard will be strengthened; reserve groups of Border Police employees will be formed, specially prepared to intervene operatively in case of specific and crisis situations.
According to the Border Police, traffic values traditionally increase on the eve of the holidays, especially on the way to enter the Republic of Moldova. In the last five days alone, there has been a flow of passengers of 144,599 crossings, an increase of 10% compared to the first five days of the current month.
