Chisinau, 23 December /MOLDPRES/ - The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) today came up with a warning for citizens about the risk of falling through the thin ice of water basins.
According to IGSU, the warning comes in the context of the decreasing of the air temperature and forming of ice bridges on the surface of lakes and rivers from Moldova.
Thus, people are urged to avoid the ice fishing or to go to water basins, as the thickness of the ice is no more than 8-10 cm.
Special attention must be paid to minors. People who take care of children are asked to monitor them strictly and not allow them playing nearby water basins. In case of risk situations, people can ask for help by calling the 112 Service.
