Over 1,700 drivers fined on weekend for violating traffic rules

Chisinau, 27 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- On weekend, throughout the country, the patrol officers carried out actions to detect drivers who violate the law. As a result, 1,700 drivers were fined.

According to the National Public Safety Inspectorate, over the weekend, law enforcement officers fined 369 drivers for exceeding the speed limit, 642 - for failing to comply with road signs, 168 - for violating parking rules and not giving priority to pedestrians.

During the same period, 22 drunk drivers were found and removed from the management of the transport unit by the patrol officers, most of them in a state of advanced intoxication.

The patrol inspectors also intervened in 221 cases from 112 service.
