CNA officers raided several locations on Durlești land business cases

Chisinau, 28 Dec. / MOLDPRES /- Eight people were searched at home this morning. They are targeted in land business cases, involving former Durlești City Hall officials, suspected of harming the state by about 6.5 million lei.

According to the CNA, the eight people would have acted as intermediaries, and the actual beneficiaries of the transactions would be the relatives of the former mayor and former employees of Durlești city hall.

During the searches, the CNA officers searched for evidence regarding the involvement of the eight people in the corruption acts from the mayor's office. Transaction cost documents, mobile phones and other information carriers were collected from the scene.

The persons concerned are being investigated, at this stage, in a state of freedom, and the prosecutors will establish their procedural status, based on the accumulated evidence.

One month ago, several former officials of the Durlești city hall in Chisinau municipality were criminally investigated by CNA officers and anti-corruption prosecutors in a case of abuse of office. They are suspected of having devised an alienation scheme for the lands within the city of Durlești, based on some decisions of the local council.
