Municipal educational institution to be named after poet Adrian Păunescu

Chisinau, Dec. 29 / MOLDPRES /- Gymnasium No7 from Milești Street 34, the Center sector in the capital has been renamed Adrian Păunescu Gymnasium.

In today's meeting, the Chisinau Municipal Council approved the change of the name of the Gymnasium No7 in the Adrian Păunescu Gymnasium, in memory of the poet, publicist, literary critic, essayist, translator, Romanian politician Adrian Păunescu.

The initiative to rename the educational institution belongs to the administration of the gymnasium, which motivated that among the teachers and students there is a special consideration for the Romanian writer. "The administration of the gymnasium is the one that requested to assign to the institution the name of the poet and publicist Adrian Păunescu, it has assumed the responsibility for preserving memory of the great poet", municipal councilor Corneliu Pântea said.

The gymnasium building was built in 1964 and has three floors. 370 students study at the institution.
