About 700 employees of Moldova's Border Police to work on New Year night

Chisinau, 31 December /MOLDPRES/ - About 700 employees of the Border Police will ensure the control and supervision of the border on the New Year night.

According to the institution, on 31 December, in line with statistics data of the previous years, a decrease in the number of state border crossings against the days before the holidays is recorded. Thus, on the last day of the 2020 year, 6,762 crossings by travellers were registered and 2,499 ones of transport means. In 2019, 36,716 crossings of people were recorded and 7,857 crossings of vehicles. The Chisinau International Airport was the most transited one on the New Year night.

Also on the night between the years, more Border Police crews will patrol in the border area and in settlements nearby, in order to ensure the public order.
