Over 6,800 people called for ambulance on New Year's Eve

Chisinau, January 4 / MOLDPRES /- On 31 December -2 January, 6,812 requests were registered with the Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Service.

According to the National Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Care, the emergency medical teams provided first aid to 1,500 patients with respiratory diseases, followed by 1,306 people with cardiovascular emergencies, including 25 patients with acute coronary syndrome. Neurological emergencies accounted for 874 cases, of which 86 were strokes.

During the same period, 684 people with various traumas requested ambulance intervention, including for 22 patients who suffered as a result of road accidents. At the same time, 55 requests were registered with the Emergency Service due to infectious emergencies and 31 due to intoxications, including 16 with alcohol, eight with carbon monoxide and four with medicines.

Within 72 hours, eight people between the ages of 38 and 76 with hypothermia and frostbite received urgent medical attention. Four cases of first and second degree hypothermia were registered in Hâncești, Nisporeni, Ocnița and Straseni districts. Four other cases of frostbite were reported in Chisinau municipality and Floresti district.
