Well-known Moldovan fine artist passes away

Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ - A well-known fine artist, Master in Art, laureate of the Youth Prize and National Prize Andrei Mudrea passed away at the age of 67 years because of an incurable disease at the Emergency Hospital on 15 January.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the Fine Artists Union of Moldova, Dumitru Bolboceanu, said that Andrei Mudrea had been one of the best artists from Moldova. Mudrea participated in the elaboration of the Coat of Arms. His passing away is a great loss for Moldova’s culture, Bolboceanu noted.
Andrei Mudrea was born in the Mitocul Vechi village, Orhei district, on 29 April 1954. During 1969-1973, he studied at the I. Repin Republican Fine Arts College, presently the Alexandru Plamadeala Republican Fine Arts College. As of 1975, he studied at the painting workshop of Mihai Grecu. Starting from 1975 till 1985, Mudrea was teacher at the Fine Arts School for children from the Orhei town. Beginning with 1978 till present, he participated in all exhibitions organized by the Fine Artists Union of Moldova. Andrei Mudrea was awarded the Youth Prize, National Prize and the honorific title, Master in Art, as well as more national and international prizes.
