As many as 1,039 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 7,371 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,039 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed. Nineteen out of the new cases are import ones. Thus, 388,959 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health Ministry (MS), 52 out of all infection cases are among medical employees (20 physicians, 20 medical assistants, 12 auxiliary staff employees).

As many as 923 people confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 67 are in extremely serious condition and 4 patients are subjected to mechanical ventilation.

In the context, 5,428 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 12,634 are under supervision at home.

Another 385 people have been treated. As many as 366,904 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MS informs about the registration of another 7 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 10,444 people have died of coronavirus in all.
