As many as 1,783 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 17 January /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 8,834 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,783 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed. Twenty out of the new cases are import ones. Thus, 390,742 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data by the Health Ministry (MS), 120 out of all infection cases are among medical employees (25 physicians, 58 medical assistants, 37 auxiliary staff employees).

As many as 1,445 people confirmed with COVID-19 are hospitalized in all, of whom 126 are in extremely serious condition and 11 patients are subjected to mechanical ventilation.

In the context, 5,667 persons are treated at home with light and moderate forms of coronavirus and 12,628 are under supervision at home.

Another 295 people have been treated. As many as 367,199 people were treated of COVID-19 in all.

At the same time, MS informs about the registration of another 8 deaths triggered by COVID-19 and 10,452 people have died of coronavirus in all.
