Chisinau, January 18 / MOLDPRES /- Since the beginning of this year and until now, counterfeits have been found in 12 vaccination certificates against Covid-19 and in nine PCR tests. In the last 24 hours alone, three fake Covid-19 vaccination certificates have been identified at the Moldovan-Romanian border.
According to the Border Police, three truck drivers, citizens of the Republic of Moldova, are being investigated for possession and use of false official documents. They were found at the crossing point of the Giurgiulești-Galați border, at the exit from the country.
The men are aged 23 -33 and come from Telenesti, Vulcanesti and Chisinau districts. Border police confirmed the untruthfulness of the anti-Covid-19 vaccination certificates following additional checks in the database. Although the drivers refused to give explanations, they would have resorted to such actions in order to be exempted from self-isolation on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, as well as in other states.
In all cases, the border guards of the South Regional Directorate will continue their investigations into the crime of possession and use of false official documents.
