Chisinau, 19 January /MOLDPRES/ -The policies in the field of national infrastructure of space data (INDS) will be optimized. In this respect, the cabinet of ministers today approved a draft on amendment of the law on the national infrastructure of space data and the law on geodesy, map making and geo-informatics, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The amendments were made following recommendations by experts of EU Twinning Project, Improvement of space data services in Moldova according to the EU standards, implemented in 2020-2022. Within the project, decision-makers carried out the analysis of the situation in the field of national infrastructure of space data and normative acts elaborated so far by the Land Relations and Cadastre Agency on the implementation of INDS.
The amendments and completions suggested will ensure a clear-cut interpretation of the present obligations and powers of the public entities of the third sides, which have legal right over the sources of space data. Also, the amendments are aimed at keeping record of the topo-geodetic works carried out in Moldova, in order to stock them in a single access point, with the perspective of full coverage of the country’s territory with this data. The works will be registered free of charge; the expenses for the creation and keeping of this register will be covered from budget allocations or other legal sources.
