Moldovan tax body registered about 18,000 lease contracts last year

Chisinau, 26 January /MOLDPRES/- In January-December 2021, State Tax Service (SFS) registered 17,763 lease / rent contracts, up by 22.19% or 3,941 compared to 2020.

Also, as a result of the voluntary compliance actions by the SFS, 5,623 private people were identified who lease / rent real estate, without the timely registration of contracts.

"For 636 private people who lease real estate and did not comply with legal provisions were calculated in addition to payment to the budget: basic payments - 865 thousand lei, penalties - 60 thousand lei and fines - 132.3 thousands of lei ", SFS said.

The income tax revenues related to the operations of handing over and / or using the real estate for 2021 are increasing by 30.55% compared to 2020.

According to the Fiscal Code, private people who do not carry out entrepreneurial activity and transfer in possession and / or use real estate, pay income tax of 7% of the monthly value of the contract.

The lease contract must be registered with the State Tax Service within 7 days from the date of its conclusion. The tax is paid monthly, no later than the 25th of the current month.
