Moldovan president meets PM of Kingdom of Netherlands

Chisinau, 2 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- President Maia Sandu met today with Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, who paid a working visit to Chisinau. This is the first time a Dutch prime minister has visited Moldova, which has allowed the political dialogue between the two countries to be reset and laid the groundwork for a strong future partnership in important areas for citizens, the presidential press service has reported.

According to the head of state, in the 30 years of diplomatic relations that bind us, the Netherlands has always been an important partner in promoting our goals of European integration. "We are grateful to the Hague authorities for their support in our dialogue with the European Union," said Maia Sandu.

President Maia Sandu also thanked the Kingdom of the Netherlands for its support over the years in strengthening democracy in the Republic of Moldova, the rule of law and the free press, but also for joining us in the pandemic and energy. "We also expressed our determination to go on the path of development and modernization of the country, to create jobs and increase the living standards of the citizens," the head of state said.

In this regard, she wanted to encourage Dutch businessmen to invest in the Republic of Moldova. And he invited tourists from the Netherlands to visit our picturesque places in the country and meet our enthusiastic people, to show them our culture and customs and to create beautiful memories of Moldova.
