COVID-19 cases number increased by over 50 percent

Chisinau, 3 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- On 24-30 January 2022, 31,292 cases of COVID-19 were recorded, up by over 53% compared to the previous week. Also, compared to last month, the incidence is more than 15 times.
According to the Ministry of Health, 266 cases of infection among pregnant women were registered in the same period. Similarly, the number of cases of illness among children has increased, from 2,811 in the third week of this year to 3,241 in the fourth week.
Thus, a national red code was established. In Vulcănești, the lowest incidence was registered - 297 cases per 100 thousand population, and the highest infection rate was attested in Chisinau - 1,596 cases per 100 thousand population. 120 deaths caused by COVID-19 were also reported during that period.
Also in the last week, 41,901 people were vaccinated. Thus, the national coverage with a dose, in the general population, constitutes almost 31%, and with complete scheme - about 29%. In total, 1,927,237 doses of vaccine were administered.
