Deputy PM for reintegration meets Head of Council of Europe's Office in Moldova

Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - Aspects of the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue have been tackled at a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian and Head of the Council of Europe’s Office in Moldova William Massolin, who congratulated the Moldovan official on his appointment to this important office, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The discussions were focused on the excellent cooperation between Moldova and the Council of Europe and the support received by Chisinau, including through topic-related expertise, recommendations of good practices, projects on promotion of confidence building measures and other forms of multilateral assistance.
Deputy PM Oleg Serebrian stressed the need to maintain, in priority focus, the issue of human rights in the Transnistrian region, including in the part regarding the observance of the right to education in the mother language, strengthening the joint efforts on this dimension.
Also, Serebrian reiterated the need to consult the opinion and preventively inform the Reintegration Policies Bureau about the programmes and projects scheduled to be implemented in the Transnistrian region, with the joint setting of priority lines of intervention to this effect.
