Chisinau, 3 February /MOLDPRES/ - The law on the attraction of foreign investments in the sector of production of film and other audiovisual works will be amended. A draft to this effect was approved in the first reading with the votes of 63 MPs today.
The draft was elaborated as a result of the findings of the ex-post evaluation report on the impact of the law in force, which proved that there are a string of inconsistencies and deficiencies between the document’s provisions and stipulations of other normative acts.
The draft’s authors suggest that the powers of administrator of the scheme of investments in the field of production of film and other audiovisual works should be transmitted from the Investments Agency to the National Cinematography Centre. This institution is empowered to implement the state policy in this field and is subordinated to the Culture Ministry.
At the same time, the term of consideration of the beneficiary file is to be extended from 10 to 20 days.
