Municipal Council of Students set up in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 11 Feb. / MOLDPRES /- The Municipal Council of Students has been set up for the second time in Chisinau.

The General Directorate of Education, Youth and Sports of the Chisinau Municipal Council announced that it has completed the selection process of the 51 members of the Municipal Students' Council, a structure that represents the interests of students in municipal educational institutions.

According to the information presented, in January, about one hundred applications for student participation in the selection competition organized by the municipal institution were received. Between 27 and 31 January 2022, discussions were held with the candidates, and as a result, 51 councilors were selected from 51 educational institutions in the capital, of which 26 high schools and 25 gymnasiums.

The interim head of the Education Department, Adrian Pavaloi, stated that the members of the Municipal Students' Council will go through the schools and discuss the ideas, proposals, problems encountered by the students, after which they will meet during the meetings and submit an agenda of actions to the Directorate. general education, youth and sports of the Chisinau Municipal Council. "The voices of 96,000 students attending municipal educational institutions will be heard with the help of the Municipal Students' Council," Pavaloi said.

The first Municipal Council of Students was established in 2021.
