Moldova's economic priorities discussed with top European bank's mission

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The economic situation of Moldova on 14 February was discussed with representatives of the mission of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The discussions are part of the mission of the country’s diagnosis, which EBRD is carrying out periodically in the states where it works.
Economics Ministry’s representatives showed the most important aspects of the institution’s agenda, the challenges, as well as the progress made in the economic sector.
„In particular, the sides tackled subjects dealing with the support of Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), reformation of Free Economic Zones, implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) between Moldova and the European Union, adjusting to the European standards and other aspects related,’’ reads a press release of the institution.
The EBRD mission holds official discussions also with other competent institutions, after which it will come up with a report, in which the priorities and support actions for the next five years will be set. The Office of the EBRD Resident Representation in Chisinau contributed to the implementation of 145 projects, of which 52 active projects, the portfolio of which amounts to 616 million euros, on strategic fields, such as infrastructure, financial institutions, industry, commerce and agro-business.
